50k!!!
My #murdermystery #wip has officially reached 50k words. Chapter 38 is almost done, and if I had to estimate, I have about 3 chapters left to write.
I am so proud of myself for how far I have come in so short of a time. Keep in mind, I started this book for my #NaNoWriMo 2018 project. It took 3 months to write a first draft, which is half the word count of the 2nd draft's current manuscript. The 1st draft was finished around this same time last year. That means that I've written 2 drafts in a little over a year.
Compared to when I wrote my 1st book, that's a huge leap in productivity. Orion took 4 years to write the first draft, and another 2 to write the second draft, which definitely wasn't ready for publication.
I have grown a lot since my first publication. This book has grown by leaps and bounds. I'm so excited that the second draft is almost finished, and I have a CP looking at it. I'm excited that I'm growing and improving. I'm excited that, if everything goes right, I will be able to publish for the end of 2020. That's a lot to ask for, but just the idea of it being possible is trilling.
